  The Super Eagles of Nigeria have won the Unity Cup in London. This followed a 5-4 win on penalty shoot out at the Gtech Stadium on Saturday night after a pulsating 2-2 draw against the Reggae Boys of Jamaica. Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze scored in both halves while Jamaica made comebacks but lost out in the spot kicks. The fourth Jamaican kick came off the crossbar while the Super Eagles scored all five.

IZUTHE Mulatto is the wife of Crystal Palace striker Eberechi Eze, whom he married in the Igbo Mbaise tradition. The Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, Umar Fagge, has confirmed the death of about 20 athletes returning from the just concluded National Sports Festival held in Ogun State following a ghastly accident.  Faage incident, said many other athletes sustained various degree of injuries following the fatal accident on Saturday in the  ghastly motor accident at Dakatsalle Bridge in the Kura Local Government area of Kano State. He explained that the bus conveying 30 athletes fell from the bridge, leading to the death of the 20 athletes. “As I am talking to you now, we have counted 19 dead bodies,” Fagge said. Similarly, Ado Salisu, a former Vice President of SWAN, said victims were still being conveyed to Kura General Hospital. When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Kano Sector Command, Abdullahi Labaran, also confirmed the accident. He however said that he could not confirm the number of deaths and injured persons.

  The remains of a renown man of God, Prophet Nathan Tonye Olozulu has been buried in Port Harcourt. The cleric died at 98 in March after a brief illness. In a well attended ceremony on Saturday, 31 May, 2025, the prophet was laid to rest at the Port Harcourt Cemetery after a service at his residence in Rumuibekwe, off Shell Residential Area in Port Harcourt. Olozulu, who was succeded by many children and grand children started off as an engineer before he got the call form God to full time ministry. He later founded the Manifestation Ministry where he presided as a prophet before his death. In an earlier interview with our correspondent, Prophet Olozulu said God called him to Ministry to cure people of all manner of ailments using water. The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the killing of   notorious kidnapper and murder suspect, identified as David Uzoma Kamalu, during a raid on his hideout in Rumuodogu 1 Community, Emohua Local Government Area of the state. The police said the suspect, who was responsible for various high-profile crimes against innocent citizens, including robberies on the East Road, was killed when he and his gang opened fire on operatives who raided his camp. The spokesperson for the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, disclosed this in a statement issued in Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Thursday.
