Europa League trophy not enough for Ange

 




Tottenham Hotspur Chairman Daniel Levy is renown for his ruthlessness. He's once proved this with the not so surprising sacking of manager Ange Postecoglou, despite winning the Europa League last season.

Spurs ended the season 17th on the EPL table and could be the more reason for the brutal termination of his employment. It was far away from his early days when the club cruised to victories. The Greek born Australian was soon found out, he's a reckless attacking master, without much care about defence. 

You cannot try that in the modern game, especially in the EPL without getting punished. In an match down to nine men penultimate season vs Chelsea, Ange asked his players to maintain a high line. It worked for sometime as Chelsea too appeared clueless but eventually broke the deadlock and scored four.


This past season, it was downhill, though he cleverly stuck to making headway in Europe as he always won in his second season. It was way off for him to try to win the EPL. That sacrifice has now cost him his job. The players though a not happy with the sacking.


The Spurs squad penned touching goodbyes to their boss on social media, possibly hinting at their dismay over the decision.

Captain Son Heung-min called him a "legend", who "changed the trajectory of the club and believed in us".

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario wrote: "You are not only a top manager, you are an incredible person to work for, a real leader, a mentor, and someone I’ll always look up to.

"What we achieved TOGETHER will stay in the history books."

Nigeria Cannot Afford a One Party System

  It is not a secret that the ruling APC is bent on destroying the opposition and coast home in the 2027 General Election. It has dismantled the the opposition PDP and the upcoming ADC that Nigerians fear that the 2027 elections might just be a coronation exercise despite their displeasure with the ruling party. FIFA U20 World Cup: Argentina Await Flying Eagles Battle in Round of 16

  The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will take on Argentina in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. The Nigerian lads finished third in Group  to earn a place as one of the best losers after a pulsating 1-1 draw against Colombia early Monday morning.
