FIFA World Club Cup: Bayern Thrash Auckland City, PSG Wallop Atletico Madrid

 


Bayern Munich got to a winning campaign in the FIFA World Club competition with a 10-0 win over Auckland City.


The New Zealand part-timers Auckland City, who could barely raise a team, found the German Champions too tough nut to crack as they buckled under the pressure on the big stage in Cincinnati.


Kingsley Coman opened the scoring after five minutes at the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, whil Thomas Muller also scored his 250th goal as he is set to leave this summer.

By full-time, Bayern had hit double figures for the first time since August 2021 to set a new Club World Cup record.

In another encounter, European Champions, PSG, defeated Atletico Madrid 4-0 to kick off their campaign on a winning note.


The French side dominated the early stages in searing heat in front of an 80,619-strong crowd at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, enjoying 82.6% possession in the first 15 minutes.

Nigeria Cannot Afford a One Party System

  It is not a secret that the ruling APC is bent on destroying the opposition and coast home in the 2027 General Election. It has dismantled the the opposition PDP and the upcoming ADC that Nigerians fear that the 2027 elections might just be a coronation exercise despite their displeasure with the ruling party. Good for PDP, some people might say, as the then ruling party from 1999 till 2015 introduced impunity into politics. FIFA U20 World Cup: Argentina Await Flying Eagles Battle in Round of 16

  The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will take on Argentina in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. The Nigerian lads finished third in Group  to earn a place as one of the best losers after a pulsating 1-1 draw against Colombia early Monday morning. Captain, Daniel Bameyi scored from the penalty spot for his consecutive penalty goal to rescue a point against Colombia, who had scored earlier.
