Leicester City Sack Van Nistelrooy



Leicester City have sacked manager Ruud van Nistelrooy after only seven months in charge.

The former PSV Eindhoven coach replaced Steve Cooper as the Foxes boss with the club 16th in the Premier League after 12 games.

His appointment came just two weeks after he left his role as interim head coach at Manchester United following Ruben Amorim's arrival.

Though his spell at Leicester began with a 3-1 win against West Ham in December, Van Nistelrooy's side suffered 19 defeats in his 27 games in charge as the club were relegated from the Premier League with an 18th-placed finish.

Ruud van Nistelrooy signed a contract with Leicester City until June 2027 but they will spend 2025-26 in the Championship after finishing last season 18th in the Premier League. The Foxes were 13 points adrift of safety and were relegated as early as April.

Taking over a club sitting 16th in the Premier League table, the former Manchester United striker enjoyed a brilliant start at the King Power Stadium as they defeated West Ham 3-1 on 3 December.

Five days later his new side drew 2-2 at Brighton but what followed was a dismal run of 17 defeats from 19 matches which confirmed the Foxes' return to the second tier.

Though they ended the season by picking up seven points from their final four games, via wins against Ipswich Town and Southampton and a draw with Nottingham Forest, it was too little too late for Van Nistelrooy.

Nigeria Cannot Afford a One Party System

  It is not a secret that the ruling APC is bent on destroying the opposition and coast home in the 2027 General Election. It has dismantled the the opposition PDP and the upcoming ADC that Nigerians fear that the 2027 elections might just be a coronation exercise despite their displeasure with the ruling party. FIFA U20 World Cup: Argentina Await Flying Eagles Battle in Round of 16

  The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will take on Argentina in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. The Nigerian lads finished third in Group  to earn a place as one of the best losers after a pulsating 1-1 draw against Colombia early Monday morning. Captain, Daniel Bameyi scored from the penalty spot for his consecutive penalty goal to rescue a point against Colombia, who had scored earlier.
