Ogoni Call for exoneration of Ken Saro Wiwa, Others after Presidential Pardon



More reactions are trailing on the presidential pardon granted to Late Ken Saro -Wiwa and his eight kinsmen by President Bola Tinubu.

Reacting in  an  exclusive interview,  a youth activists, Comrade   Oscar Saviour, who  is the publicity secretary of the Movement for the survival of Ogoni People and the President of coalition of Rivers state youth bodies, condemned the Pardon and Maintained that the Late environmental activist did not commit any crime for Mr. President to grant him pardon.

He also said, the Ogoni people are supposed to grant the Nigeria government pardon for marginalization not the government granting late Ken Saro-Wiwa and eight others pardon.

While seeking for total exoneration with Ogoni stakeholders for late Ken Saro-Wiwa, he expressed disappointment on Federal government for  delaying the expectation of the Ogoni people.

You will recall that a Special Tribunal in 1995 convicted the famous writer and environmentalist, Ken Saro-Wiwa and eight others to death by hanging and subsequently hanged.


President Tinubu, in his address to the National Assembly on Thursday, granted pardon to the Ogoni Nine and also awarded post humous national award to the late Ken.


In the same vein, the Convener of Ogoni Development Drive, ODD, Solomon Leenu, condemned the president and called for exoneration.

Nigeria Cannot Afford a One Party System

  It is not a secret that the ruling APC is bent on destroying the opposition and coast home in the 2027 General Election. FIFA U20 World Cup: Argentina Await Flying Eagles Battle in Round of 16

  The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will take on Argentina in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. The Nigerian lads finished third in Group  to earn a place as one of the best losers after a pulsating 1-1 draw against Colombia early Monday morning.
