Maresca now Welcome as Chelsea Boss after FIFA Club World Cup Triumph



Chelsea fans across the world will now embrace Enzo Maresca after leading the EPL side to  a stunning victory at the just concluded FIFA Club World Cup in the United States of America.

The Italian was never fully accepted as manager of the West London side after Maurichio Pochettino was dismissed penultimate season. The poor start to the season did not help matters but finished strongly to make too four and brought Chelsea a Champions League qualification for next season.



Also, Chelsea were clearly underdog going to the FIFA Club World Cup, the expanded version that had 32 teams from the best footballing nations. As the competition went by in searing summer heat in the US, Chelsea showed grit and determination to reach the final and dismissed two Brazilian sides-Palmeiras and Fluminense- to the reach the final. They had in the group stage lost to Flamengo 2-1.

However, few pundits gave the London side a chance against PSG- a side that obliterated all sides to reach the final.  before Sunday's final, pundits had already handed the trophy to PSG, who thrashed Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-final and defeated Bayern Munich 2-0 in the quarter final despite being down to nine men in the match at some point.

But Sunday's final showed the tactical genius of Maresca, who completely stifled PSG's attacking threat. Cole Palmer scored twice while new signing Jaoa Pedro scored the third as Chelsea were crowned the World Champions.


Now, naysayers are believed to have shifted their hardline stance towards Maresca.

Nigeria Cannot Afford a One Party System

  It is not a secret that the ruling APC is bent on destroying the opposition and coast home in the 2027 General Election. It has dismantled the the opposition PDP and the upcoming ADC that Nigerians fear that the 2027 elections might just be a coronation exercise despite their displeasure with the ruling party. FIFA U20 World Cup: Argentina Await Flying Eagles Battle in Round of 16

  The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will take on Argentina in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. The Nigerian lads finished third in Group  to earn a place as one of the best losers after a pulsating 1-1 draw against Colombia early Monday morning. Captain, Daniel Bameyi scored from the penalty spot for his consecutive penalty goal to rescue a point against Colombia, who had scored earlier.
