FG Rewards Victorious DTigress with Cash, Houses and National Honours

 


The victorious DTigress of Nigeria have received rewards just like their Super Falcons counterparts a week earlier.

The Vice President Kashim Shettimah, who represented President Bola Tinubu at the civic reception for the ladies in Abuja, announced a donation of $100 thousand, three bedroom flat each at the Renewed Hope Estate in Abuja and the national award of the Officer of the Order of Niger, OON.

The coaches were also awarded the same houses and OON and $50 thousand.


President Tinubu had penultimate Monday awarded the Super Falcons for winning their 10th AWCON title. The DTigress won their 5th consecutive Afrobasket title on Sunday night after beating Mali 78-64 in a pulsating final match in Abidjan Cote D'Ivoire.

Okrika-born Coach Rena Wakama led the team to defend the title won two years ago. The first female coach to achieve the feat of winning the trophy and also defend it.

Nigeria Cannot Afford a One Party System

  It is not a secret that the ruling APC is bent on destroying the opposition and coast home in the 2027 General Election. It has dismantled the the opposition PDP and the upcoming ADC that Nigerians fear that the 2027 elections might just be a coronation exercise despite their displeasure with the ruling party. FIFA U20 World Cup: Argentina Await Flying Eagles Battle in Round of 16

  The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will take on Argentina in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. The Nigerian lads finished third in Group  to earn a place as one of the best losers after a pulsating 1-1 draw against Colombia early Monday morning. Captain, Daniel Bameyi scored from the penalty spot for his consecutive penalty goal to rescue a point against Colombia, who had scored earlier.
