Money Doesn't Buy You Trophy

Crystal Palace proved once again that money is not everything in football as they defeated Liverpool in penalty shoot out to win the Community Shield at the Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Liverpool had spent over 250 million pounds in the transfer market so far this summer while, in sharp contrast, Crystal Palace a platy 2 million pounds.
The match had ended 2-2 in regulation time with new signings Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong on the score sheet for Liverpool, the EPL Champions.
However, Crystal Palace had other ideas as they came back twice to earn a draw and won via shoot out. Dean Henderson was the hero again for the London side as he saved two kicks from Liverpool. Henderson had in May saved Marmoush's penalty to deny Manchester City an equaliser and eventually the FA Cup. Palace have now won the FA Cup and the Community Shield for the first time in their history.
In the meantime, it is bad news for Crystal Palace as the Court of Arbitration for Sports has confirmed their demotion to the Europa Conference League following its ruling earlier today. UEFA had thrown out Crystal Palace from the UEFA Europa League due to the ownership as the same owner owns Olympic Lyonnaise.
