Orashi National Congress Frowns at Exclusion from Stakeholders Meeting



The Orashi National Congress (ONC) has expressed its displeasure over being left out of a stakeholders’ engagement meeting on pipeline vandalism organized today by Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL).
The meeting, aimed at strengthening community relations and tackling the persistent issue of pipeline sabotage, reportedly brought together various groups from across Rivers State. However, the ONC — a leading socio-cultural and advocacy body representing the four local government areas of the Orashi region — said it was neither informed nor invited.
In a statement issued by its President General, Amb. Comr. Emeni Ibe, the Congress described the development as “disheartening and unacceptable,” especially given the fact that ONC had, during the last engagement, mobilized participants at its own expense to support PINL’s anti-vandalism campaign.
“We have been at the forefront of this cause, using our resources to mobilize our people for the last meeting in good faith. Excluding us this time is a setback for the collaborative effort needed to end pipeline vandalism,” Amb. Ibe stated.
The ONC maintained that its exclusion undermines its role as a key grassroots partner in the fight against vandalism, which it said causes economic losses, environmental degradation, and threats to human life.
The group called on PINL to ensure transparency and inclusivity in all future engagements, warning that leaving out critical stakeholders weakens community participation and erodes trust.
Despite its disappointment, the ONC reaffirmed its readiness to continue working with relevant agencies and organizations to protect critical national assets, promote peace, and sustain development in the region.

Nigeria Cannot Afford a One Party System

  It is not a secret that the ruling APC is bent on destroying the opposition and coast home in the 2027 General Election. FIFA U20 World Cup: Argentina Await Flying Eagles Battle in Round of 16

  The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will take on Argentina in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
