100 Silicon Valley Techpreneurs Storm Port Harcourt for Startup Conference

 


About 100 tech experts from the Silicon Valley in Northern California, US, are expected in Port Harcourt for a three-day Conference on the 10th anniversary of StartUp South.

Convener of StartUp South, Uche Aniche, addressing the press in Port Harcourt ahead of the event, noted that big players in the industry, investors, innovators, media and other stakeholders numbering up to 5000 are to be part of the 10th anniversary.

Aniche pointed out that the aim was to make the South South and South East regions of Nigeria startup hub. He lamented that many startups from the regions ended up in Lagos and some other parts of the country as they did not have the  supporting ecosystem.


He mentioned some particular innovations by Port Harcourt based individuals who had to relocate to make the products world class. He said that trend must end, and that was why the event would bring investors, innovators nd other stakeholders together to harness the resources of the regions.

Nigeria Cannot Afford a One Party System

  It is not a secret that the ruling APC is bent on destroying the opposition and coast home in the 2027 General Election. It has dismantled the the opposition PDP and the upcoming ADC that Nigerians fear that the 2027 elections might just be a coronation exercise despite their displeasure with the ruling party. FIFA U20 World Cup: Argentina Await Flying Eagles Battle in Round of 16

  The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will take on Argentina in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. The Nigerian lads finished third in Group  to earn a place as one of the best losers after a pulsating 1-1 draw against Colombia early Monday morning. Captain, Daniel Bameyi scored from the penalty spot for his consecutive penalty goal to rescue a point against Colombia, who had scored earlier.
