CAF Club Competitions: Mixed Results for Nigerian Clubs in Africa

 


Remo Stars got off to a wonderful start in the preliminary round of CAF Champions League. The Ikennne based side thrashed visiting Comoros Island's champions  Zilimadjou FC at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta on Sunday.

Abia Warriors of Umuahia, on their part, drew 1-1 against AC Djoliba of Mali at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round.

In Congo, Rivers Utd fought Les Aigles to a 0-0 draw on Saturday while Kwara Utd fell 4-3 to Ghana's Ashanti Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium in  Kumasi on Sunday.

Kinshasa-Complexe Omnisports Stade des Martyrs played host to Saturday's CAF Champions League Clash with FC Les Aigles du Congo

Nigeria Cannot Afford a One Party System

  It is not a secret that the ruling APC is bent on destroying the opposition and coast home in the 2027 General Election. It has dismantled the the opposition PDP and the upcoming ADC that Nigerians fear that the 2027 elections might just be a coronation exercise despite their displeasure with the ruling party. Good for PDP, some people might say, as the then ruling party from 1999 till 2015 introduced impunity into politics. It was then a Behemoth that swallowed all-30 Governors and a trifecta majority in the House of Reps and Senate and the states. FIFA U20 World Cup: Argentina Await Flying Eagles Battle in Round of 16

  The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will take on Argentina in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. The Nigerian lads finished third in Group  to earn a place as one of the best losers after a pulsating 1-1 draw against Colombia early Monday morning. Captain, Daniel Bameyi scored from the penalty spot for his consecutive penalty goal to rescue a point against Colombia, who had scored earlier.
