Transfer Deadline Day Deals

 


Alexander Isak is the biggest mover from Newcastle United to Liverpool in a deal that could be worth 130m pounds.

The deal was a protracted one that has sullied the relationship between the player and the club. Isak alleged that Newcastle reneged on a promise to allow him go if a good offer came.Liverpool had ealier in the summer made an offer of 110m pounds, which the club promptly rejected. The Sweden international, 25, also went on strike and vowed not to play for the club again. Today's breakthrough brought an end to the saga just like Victor Gyokeres to Arsenal from Sporting Lisbon.

Marc Guehi could also end up at Liverpool before the transfer window slams shut by 7pm tonight. Liverpool had so done well in this window. 


Arsenal, on the other hand, have only defender Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen as the incoming, having completed most deals earlier. Eze was the latest edition and had a cameo int he 70th minute as Arsenal lost 1-0 to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

Three Super Eagles players: Tolu Arokodare, Chris Uche and  Samuel Chukweze, from Genk, Getafe and AC Milan are joining Wolves, Brentford and Fulham respectively in the transfer deadline to swell Nigerians in the EPL. Another Nigerian in the mix is Ademola Lookman who is interesting Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur. Nicholas Jackson's deal at Bayern Munich could decide his fate.


Newcastle United have swiftly replaced Isak with another proven EPL striker as they agreed a fee of 55m pounds to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford. Wissa was in a similar situation with Isak as Brentford played hardball, not wanting to lose their prized asset after earlier selling Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United.

United have also acquired the services of Belgian shot stopper,  Senne Lammens as they backed out of wantaway Emiliano Martinez of Aston Villa. 

Gianluigi Donnarumma's move to Manchester City from PSG means Ederson can complete his move to Fernabache. Manuel Akanji could also be on the move to another unnamed club.

Nigeria Cannot Afford a One Party System

  It is not a secret that the ruling APC is bent on destroying the opposition and coast home in the 2027 General Election. It has dismantled the the opposition PDP and the upcoming ADC that Nigerians fear that the 2027 elections might just be a coronation exercise despite their displeasure with the ruling party. FIFA U20 World Cup: Argentina Await Flying Eagles Battle in Round of 16

  The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will take on Argentina in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. The Nigerian lads finished third in Group  to earn a place as one of the best losers after a pulsating 1-1 draw against Colombia early Monday morning. Captain, Daniel Bameyi scored from the penalty spot for his consecutive penalty goal to rescue a point against Colombia, who had scored earlier.
